ABI Warns RFID Industry Shakeup
In a report titled “RFID Research Service”, ABI Research reports that in the next six to nine months, the RFID industry will be augmented to accomodate more focused RFID software and applications. According to eChannel Line:
“The last couple RFID in the supply chain has been a side project; a high-priority side project but a side project nonetheless for a number of large organizations, and the roll outs have been separate from the mainline manufacturing and distribution solutions,” he said. “Now we’re seeing RFID integrated into other business processes.
“Several large vendors are offering seamless RFID solutions from creation to delivery,” he noted. “The larger vendors see the need for smaller solution providers and that talent is scarce . . . big and small companies are trying to spread their wings and the result is an overlap.
